Specsavers Shuttle advert

I did hesitate about posting this because it's very silly. But it's only 30 seconds long and some of you might find it amusing:

Brilliant! ;D

I'll let them off about the fact that they've shown the SSMEs lit prior to re-entry, without the ET attached!

Amusing. Though I tend to be picky on accuracy.

That is funny! Noticed Chris tweeted it. Got to ask, what was the #mops about? Some private joke?

Heh, Mops! ;D

Private joke with my York friends who follow me. York City FC were in the promotion playoffs last season and the semi final is a home and away (two matches) scenario, and we beat Luton Town at home and then beat them again away to get to a one off final at Wembley to gain promotion (which we lost to Oxford :()

Luton fans weren't very happy about losing to us, tried to rush the couple of thousand York support that made the journey down and was in one stand, the but failed to get past the police line (lucky for them, I might add ;)), so they tried to get us outside where our buses were parked up, but came across a load a police again. However, there was a hardware store where they were gathering, so for some reason they decided to throw mops at us ;D

Not exactly the running street battles of the hooligan '80s, not when there's mops flying through the air like in the movie "Zulu".

Was surreal ;D

I know it's supposed to be funny but it really does make me cringe

I do think people get too arsey about accuracy sometimes. It's a comedy advert and sometimes you have to change things to make them look good for the shot/theme you're going for. Suspension of disbelief, etc.

I think it's brilliant, personally.

And now I know Chris is on Twitter. I'd add you but you'd get bored of my left wing rants ;)

I see this advert on TV all the time. I must've seen it a thousand times now, but still every time it grabs my attention because.....ooooh, Shuttle! :)
