I thought I'd set up a thread for personal photos surrounding the ferry flight, along the lines of the STS-134 and 135 photo threads:

http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=25083.0
http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=25488.0

Per the rules there: Feel free to attach selected photos you've taken (providing they aren't massive file sizes), embed (again, only selective, no more than two per post and not "wider" than the page size) or link up to your personal album.

Starting it out with two of mine from the SLF this morning...

I think this is my favorite, since it shows some scale, and it has one of the chase T-38s.  I think this was on the second flyby approach to Dulles.

That's a great picture, thanks for posting it.

Took these at Udvar-Hazy during three different passes.

I've got a bunch, but need to bump them up a bit in PhotoShop to bring out the contrast.

After the landing, I went into the museum and took these photos of Enterprise looking lonely and unloved.

Poor Enterprise....

Do these pictures need to be taken in person? (Because I have 16+ hours of video on my computer that I've recorded)

I shot about 200 RAW+JPEG frames. Unfortunately, I left the CF reader at home, so I'm stuck with whatever JPEGs the flaky Eye-Fi card will send to my iPad.

Even the mall at GSFC was a bit crowded today for the flyover with a lot of co-workers bringing their families :-)

I must say, yeah DC got four passes but, there was something about the need of needing to see this event from NASA property (and still having to get 8 hrs of work in!)

My views are mine, and mine alone and DO NOT reflect that of my employer nor my place of employment.

I had a nice view from Bolling AFB myself. Wouldn't have missed it in the world. 2nd best way to view short of the launches.

there was no way i could have prepared for that first overhead pass at udvar-hazy. i suppose the life lesson is "only use lenses you're comfortable with" (my recalcitrant zoom lens locked up because it was approaching us too rapidly for the autofocus to compensate), but on the other hand, if i'd gone for the 35mm lens that i'm most familiar with, i'd have been photographing that moment instead of experiencing it.

[snip]...i'd have been photographing that moment instead of experiencing it.

I watched both passes and the landing while trying to photograph.  After realizing that you don't remember the experience while looking through a lens, I made myself watch and whatever the camera got, it got.  Great shots!

Taken from just south of Dulles.  A bit more photoshopped than I would have liked, but the overcast left everything washed out.  Heading back today to get more.
