Kliper Progress - News from Flight International
« on: 09/04/2005 07:27 pm »
Hi all,

Some news:

http://www.flightinternational.com/Articles/2005/08/30/Navigation/200/201273/USA+and+Europe+offered+Kliper+outfitting+contracts.html

http://www.flightinternational.com/Articles/2005/08/30/Navigation/200/201272/Moonshot+engine+to+power+spacecraft.html

Chris, as the Kliper project is progressing faster than many expected, how about giving the subject its own forum? At its current rate it will fly before the CEV.

“If you are a pilot, and can fly an aircraft, you shall be able to fly Kliper. Instead of tens, the army of space tourists will rise to hundreds,” says Sevastianov. “We will make [the International Space Station] a spaceport."

Makes it sound as if the Russians are indeed taking over the ISS.

So is this a cooler version of the Virgin Galactic? Sounds like there's more of a ride for your dollar?

Who's it on? There's obviously not much going on with the Kliper.

Nowhere. He shot his wad. Branson is easily distracted by bright shiny objects--and he, Fosset and others are still obsessed with some more stupid circumnavigation attempt for the umpety-umpth time.

They go from one project to another.

There is no stuff to 'em--right stuff or otherwise.
