Schedule of future landing attempts?
« on: 01/10/2015 12:35 pm »
Fantastic effort this morning! Obviously the accuracy is very good, just need a tiny bit more finesse on touchdown. Integrate with MechJeb maybe?  :)

Just wondering whether SpaceX have given on onward schedule of further landing attempts.

Their next launch is the DSCOVR mission, but I doubt they'll have enough spare fuel for an attempt. The next LEO mission is Jason-3 at the end of March. Have they announced whether that will be a landing attempt?

Does anybody have an idea on the schedule for future attempts? Thanks.

DSCOVER is reported to maybe have legs.  So don't rule it out.  Jan 29th is the next possible landing attempt from an FCC filing, according to spaceflightnow.  (Haven't seen that FCC filing myself.)

Every CRS flight will probably have a landing attempt.

Maybe check over in the Number of SpaceX returned cores poll for some informed speculation on which flights might attempt landings.

Musk tweeted “Upcoming flight already has 50 percent more hydraulic fluid, so should have plenty of margin for landing attempt next month”. So February I guess.
