Early congrats to all, but a great mission! Now let's see her (hi Chris) land safely!

Wow!

Surreal, isn't it.

Early congrats to all, but a great mission! Now let's see her (hi Chris) land safely!

Yep, as you've noted by recognizing my first post. Let's get her and her crew on the ground.

Tomorrow's going to be tough with the tributes, but we have to celebrate her.

Lots of post flight to work after she's back in the OPF (and then VAB), and we'll keep up with it all.

Heads up to those of us in southern Ontario and the surrounding area... we are about 15-20 minutes from a nice-looking pass. They are gonna go right overhead. Might not be the last chance to catch Discovery in flight, but it will be the best. ~18:55-19:00 EST.

Seems the weather gods are cooperating around much of the world tonight.

Sorry to hear that... maybe tomorrow will be better.

I'm not good at the whole photography thing, but I will give an extra wave for you!

ABSOLUTELY Beautiful... two very bright stars chasing each other from horizen to horizen... Actually gave a small salute to Discovery as it will probably be the last time I see that little spec of light in my local skies...

Spectacular pass over Pennsylvania. Discovery in the lead, mag -2; then ISS, mag -3. Three and one half degrees of separation.

Just got back inside from watching Discovery and the ISS.  I have to say this was one of the most spectacular passes I have seen. It was very bright, and the two craft were close enough that you didn't have to move back and forth from one to the other, you could just watch them both.

I found myself rather emotional as I watched Discovery twinkle out as she moved into orbital night above the eastern horizon.

I only hope the weather permits similar views of Endeavour and Atlantis on their final flights.

... I am ashamed to admit that I don't think I have seen Atlantis pass overhead independently from the station, although I know I have seen Endeavour before. Fingers crossed!

And robertross, I did wave for you.  8)

And over Rochester, NY. Rare clear skies. Dragged the wife and kids outside.

Next view of Discovery will be in Washington.

Wow, just caught it, probably the most beautiful pass I've seen!  Surprised at how bright Discovery appeared...

Just got a fantastic view of Discovery followed closely by ISS as they flew over Long Island, New York a few minutes ago.
The way the weather has been in this area lately, it may very well be the last time we're able to see Discovery.

Thanks.

Weather's not looking too good for tomorrow night either, and I'm supposed to have a 4 min pass!  ughhh. But I did seen the pair go by this time, so that's something.

Plus, If I'm not mistaken, you got to see her launch... so you've got me beat there.  ;)

that was a FANTASTIC pass, I don't think I've ever seen better! I knew the max altitude was about 60 degrees above horizon but didn't realize how high up that really is, and WOW!  I think Discovery winked at me too! =)

Took some pics, didn't turn out as well as I hoped, but will post them later.

And here's what it looked like from a rooftop on Capitol Hill, DC.  Split the Little Dipper.
