Salyut 7/Mir Transfer
« on: 08/18/2007 04:23 pm »
Does anyone have any information on the crew transfer from Salyut 7 to Mir?  Specificly how close were the two stations to each other?  It must have been within miles for the Soyuz to go between the two.

If the orbits are coelliptical it really doesn't matter much how far they are. It takes little fuel to make the transfer by going to an intermediate lower orbit. If they are far they just spend a longer time coasting.

The interesting thing is calculating Soyuz prop usage vs actual prop load.
