Surely you must be joking. If we are looking among forum users... I think Blackstar would be a far better candidate. Or Wayne Hale. Or HMXHMX, or Jongoff ....Or even Jim!

Well, I think I'm half-serious.  You yourself said, near the beginning of this thread:
This thesis, that having a fan run things is actually a good idea,
...
More seriously, I would hope whoever it is truly loves space and wants to see us expand outward.

I think, from my time here, that you fit that bill as well.

Besides, I already seconded Wayne Hale, earlier in this thread, and he turned it down, originally quoted here.

Is anybody having any luck with that link?  I get a not-found error from senate.gov.

More generally, does anyone know how to find testimony submitted for the record in general, for both House and Senate?  There are some things I've been trying to track down for years.

His nomination will now head to a full Senate vote which will probably take place before Thanksgiving.

That's probably a guess on their part. But it would make sense that the full Senate would vote on Bridenstine's nomination prior to the Thanksgiving recess.

P.S. The picture of Bridenstine shaking hands with Senator Nelson (in the article below) prior to the hearing is interesting:

That's a pretty bad guess.  Unless Bridenstine managed to magically win favor from the Democrats in the last few days, they will continue to try to stop him. If the Republicans have the votes to confirm him, they will have to overcome some procedural hurdles to get to a floor vote, which takes time. If not, they will have to work to shore up support on their side, which also takes time and has an uncertain outcome.  In any case, even Christmas could be optimistic, much less Thanksgiving.

I'm not sure that photo means a whole lot other than the fact that Senator Nelson is "old school" and typically very polite. I think that photo was from the hearing, correct? Before he and the rest of the committee Democrats voted unanimously to oppose him.

FWIW, Bridenstine's name is now on the Senate's executive calendar (no. 466):

The vote by the Full senate on Bridenstine's nomination could possibly be before Christmas (as part of a large package of nominations):

Quote
The chamber [i.e., the Senate] could also continue to process nominations during the schedule extension. Republicans hope the threat of staying in Washington, D.C. longer could help pressure Democrats into supporting a large package of nominations, similar to one passed in August.

There is talk of a vote in the Senate on the nomination of @RepJBridenstine to be @NASA Administrator around 11 Dec. The vote will likely be split along party lines with a slight edge to confirm him - with Pence as a potential tie breaker.

If they knew he would be confirmed, they would put him up for a vote. Obviously they don't think they have the votes yet.
