Odyssey platform renovated in the state of Johor, Malaysia. ACS also received an overhaul, and both repainted in new colors after Sea Launch's reorganization.

(trivia: my father is from there)
(more trivia: Odyssey, a former oil rig, was originally meant to be the sister ship to the Ocean Ranger, which sank in the Atlantic off the Canadian coast in 1982 with the loss of all on board)

55.111 seconds UTC T-0 for Rui and Anik ;)

Thank you, Chris, but... 59.111 :P

Launch – 05:22:59.111 UTC
2rd stage separation – 05:31:26 UTC
DM-SL first burn begin – 05:31:36 UTC
DM-SL first burn end – 05:36:42 UTC

Good luck, Sea Launch!

Hey, and for me too!!
Is that 59.111 actually launch, or Sea Launch "go-inertial" (3.5second
before launch according to the press info) ??

It's an impressive conversion, especially considering the work that needed to be done to recover from the failed launch (the "Big Boom").
There's a big thread here at NSF with pics throughout the repair/reconstructions needed.

Now that Anik is back, I'll drop off.  It's very quite on twitter right now.  Hope all goes well.

I agree on the "can" video shots of the launch ops staff.  Must have been recorded during some SIMS or a past launch.

Sea Launch is near by and I've seen the ships from just 300 feet away.  But the film that are being shown on the webcast does a good job of how large the launch platform is.

It's normally when the hold-down posts are released to free the booster.

Block DM shutdown.

The announcer is definitely doing it live - I heard him stumble a couple times. He is very calm though - almost sounds like HAL... :D

It is liftoff time or контакт подъёма (in Russian).

He's amazingly calm and professional. Got to be some pro TV person they've brought in. If we get nuked by Iran, I hope he's the one providing the warning. :D
