AHEM. Not volunteered. Only admitted to, under grilling, by yours truly.

Interesting comment from Mr Cain on finishing strong.

"Last also means first. About the new and thinking forward and what we can do next. We will finish strong."

Good comment, but media-angled, as a lot of them won't get to work on the firsts, although there's no other way he could have said it.

Mr. Cain, questioned about some thoughts on the end of the STS program
When I think about lasts, it means that there are going to be some firsts, we are going to finish the program strong.  Basically he notes the lasts were known to be coming for a while now and that he is excited about the new programs that are coming down the pipe.
The crews and teams performed at the top of their game and with Atlantis completing her mission, STS-135 will be a strong finish to cap off the STS program.

The photos will come when they come, I'm only interested in Endeavour coming home safe to be honest. It's about priorities, and that's no contest.

Weather supporting the tag team of Endeavour landing and Atlantis rollout.

Endeavour "Tribute Event" tonight at 23:26hrs CDT or 00:26hrs EDT.

Endeavour has End of Mission +3 days capability, LOX being the limiting cryo consumable, but if End of Mission won't work, Edwards AFB would be added for a End of Mission +1 day landing.-Mr Cain.

Good! I was wondering when that would be. She deserves a tribute, as much as Discovery was always going to be a big deal given her history.

Also, Commander Lindsey seemed to have more affection for Discovery than Commander Kelly does for Endeavour.

Ascent highlights running again. Love the crawl segment.

Yes, I'm sure I'll have some mixed emotions when they have the tribute event.

The ascent vid gives me goosebumps whenever I watch it.  My fav. part is when the frangible nuts blow right before the SRB's fire. Then just after liftoff, you can see the pad water system start to work to cool the pad from the booster blast.

I would love to peruse the raw vid/data for this.

Found this on a different website, shows what some of you must have seen.

Missed this myself, but remember seeing the shuttle lead Mir, which was 'chased' by a Progress. Impressive!

PDRS console powered down as expected, but what is the other near the front that is also down?

Oh yeah! Forgot all about that. Will inquire for specifics.

Going to set up a single FD16 thread for EOM-1, given there's going to be more than just checkouts, with tributes and media interviews. Probably won't be a long thread, but that'll set us up for the big FD17 EOM and landing thread.

Guidance and Procedures Officer. The rendezvous GPO runs that console until undocking, then the ascent/entry runs it from FCS checkout to landing.
