Slightly random, but was just curious if anyone could help me with a quick question as I hold most of the posters in here with high regard.
How did the Apollo crews survive the Van Allen Belt and what type of mitigation does the new Orion capsule use? Any information would be quite helpful, thanks in advance!

the flight time through the belts was very quick, so the exposure was not significant compared to total dose.. or at least thats how understand it.
